Assessments
Behavioral Health Center offers several types of assessments (sometimes referred to as “evaluations”), including Mental Health Evaluations, Sexual Risk Assessments, and Violence Risk Assessments. These assessments are conducted over several sessions, completed both in-person and via telehealth, by specialized clinicians
These assessments are often referred by the Department of Health and Human and Department of Corrections, however individuals may self-refer.
Please note that we cannot provide neuropsychological, psychological, or substance use assessments/evaluation, nor can we provide CODE or Level of Care assessments.
For more information regarding the assessment process, or to make a referral, please call Behavioral Health Center.
Telehealth
Telehealth allows counseling sessions to occur remotely via your computer, tablet, or phone.
The client can be at any location to utilize telehealth, so long as they are in the state of Maine and have privacy for the session. You can make arrangements for your appointments to occur via telehealth by speaking with staff at Behavioral Health Center.
To be able to utilize telehealth services, you must have an email address and dependable internet connection. In addition, please check that telehealth (sometimes called “telemedicine”) is a service covered by your health insurance.
If you are scheduled for a telehealth appointment, your provider will send you an email on the day of your appointment. This email will contain a HIPPA-compliant link. At the time of your appointment, click the link and you will be placed in the virtual waiting room. Your provider will then start the visit; both you and the provider should now have audio and visual contact with each other, and the session can begin.
